This is a directory of the magical creatures in “Timeless Ink”. Meggie was largely inspired by Inkheart in the creation of her own world.

Basilisk
A large snake creature that is very rare. It can be found in areas of the Garth mountains, not yet populated by humans, and in the Drunken Wastelands (more common there). However, there are few that have actually seen a Basilisk. If someone meets a Basilisk’s eyes they die instantly.
Brownies ** Earth Element
Brownies are small creatures who are no taller than a foot. They are usually human-esque with animal like features. There are two types of Brownies.
Wild Brownie: A brownie who lives in the wild. They like to pull little pranks on travellers and often scavenge from travellers belongings. Wild Brownies live in holes in the ground and in hollowed out trees. They are very popular in the Svara Wood and on Drar Island but can also be found in every other place on the map except the Kane Ocean. However, they are at the border of the ocean, along the beach.
House Brownie: A brownie who lives in a city. These brownies live off of people and the people offer them a little food from each dinner to prevent them from ravaging their homes. Some brownies live as pets to the humans. Many of them live as pets to the Tull Elves.
Centaurs *** Earth Element
Centaurs are top half human and bottom half horse. They can converse and talk like a human can but they tend to keep to themselves. There are packs of them in the Svara Wood and a few packs live on the Terra Plains. Centaurs are temperamental and will attack if provoked. Often they can be provoked by something most humans may find unreasonable.
Dragons **** Earth, Fire, Water or Wind Element
Dragons are lizard like creatures with armoured bodies. They can have wings, scales, fur, hair, horns, spikes, spines and many other traits. Each dragon varies in its physical traits. Dragons are known to have extra abilities depending on their species. There are four types of Dragons in Timeless Ink. The Drake People have hatched tame dragons from eggs and taught them so certain dragons are more intellegent than others.
Asian Lung: Asian Lung Dragons often have fur instead of scales. Their feet are talon like and they have long whiskers off of their faces. They don’t have wings and instead appear to float. Their bodies are long and snake like. Asian Lungs are the most intelligent of dragons and have been known to talk to humans and elves. Asian Lungs can be found in the Drunken Wastelands, the Desert Border and on Drar Island. They are a Wind Element type.
Ice Dragon: Ice Dragons are the rarest of dragons. They have large spiky peaks all over their bodies that look like icicles. They have the same build and set up like a Wyvern, meaning large wings and a body that has four legs and a soft underbelly. They are covered in scales though these are overlaid in a layer of ice that make their bodies look smooth. Ice Dragons can breathe a breath so cold it can freeze things when it hits. They are temperamental and rarely kind to anyone who approaches them. These dragons are only found in the Cloudy Mountains. They are a Water Element type.
Mini Dragon: Mini Dragons are only the size of a small cat. They can have a build based on any of the other three dragon types. Mini Dragons are friendly and cheerful creatures that are often kept as pets by the mountain people. Mini Dragons are a fairy breed of dragon. They take on the ability of one of the other three dragon types depending on their physical appearance and breed. They are a Earth Element type.
Wyvern: The most common type of dragon. It can be found anywhere on the map. Wyverns have four legs and moderate sized wings. They vary in color and tend to have spines or other markers on their bodies. Wyverns can breathe fire. The Wyvern is the most temperamental and dumb of all the dragons. They tend to attack unprovoked and are known for ravaging small towns and lone houses and farms. They are a Fire Element type.
Elves ** Earth Element
Elves vary quite a bit. They have pointed ears and are usually thin and agile. There are three types of elves.
Tull Elves: Tull elves are essentially ‘Lord of the Rings’ styled elves. Tull Elves are playable as a character. Tulls often live in the Svara Wood and the Garth Mountains. The ruling family in the Garth Mountains are Tull Elves.
Standard: Standard Elves stand to be only about 30 centimetres tall. They don’t talk or converse with humans. They generally stick to keeping the environment healthy and happy. Standard Elves are very timid and rarely seen by humans. Tull Elves can usually find them if they look hard enough. They can be found anywhere that plants or greenery live.
Dwarf: They stand to be 3-4 feet tall. Dwarf elves are essentially ‘Santa’s Elves’. They have overly dramatic features and often live in burrows. Dwarf Elves speak their own form of Elvish. By nature they are bullies and tend to bully other creatures. Dwarf elves are only found in the Svara Wood.
Fairies * – Earth, Fire, Water or Wind Element
Fairies are small people who are only about an inch tall. They have butterfly like wings that vary in color and size. Fairies go unnoticed by Human and Tull Elf eyes unless they are a sorcerer. Fairies are the center of all elements that allow the world to operate. Fairies are the creators of this world. There are five types of fairies.
Water Fairy: They are needed to perform any sort of water based magic. Water fairies can only be found around water like the rivers and the Kane Ocean.
Fire Fairy: They are needed to perform any sort of fire based magic. They are a huge fan of Dustfinger and Farid the moment they enter the Timeless World. Fire Fairies are found anywhere there is heat or stone. So essentially they are everywhere. To start any fires people must ask the Fire Fairies for help.
Wind Fairy: They are needed to perform any sort of wind based magic. They are the ones who permit any creatures from birds to dragons to fly. They also control general gravity. They are found everywhere!
Earth Fairy: They are the fairies who control how the earth changes and how plants grow. They are needed to perform any sort of earth based magic. These Fairies are the most generous and friendly. They are the only ones who openly show themselves to humans and Tulls but usually the two other species are too blind to notice.
Tull Fairy: These fairies govern all other fairies. They are smaller usually standing to only 4 feet. However, they can be seen and can converse with Humans and Elves. These fairies are able to change their size so they can fit into either society. They are also able to make their wings transparent.
Gargoyle *** Fire Element
Gargoyles are made entirely of stone. They have dragon and other animal like traits. They usually guard cities, ruins and other habitats. These are most commonly found in the Garth Mountains. Gargoyles are friendly to inhabitants, though they can’t talk. However, they are dangerous to any invaders seeking to damage the Gargoyle’s home.
Goblin **** Earth Element
Goblins are always under 4 feet tall and appear human like. They can only speak a language of their own. They are demonic and destructive by nature. They are know for slaughtering travellers who are unaware and not alert. Goblins hide everywhere though no one knows exactly where they live. Goblins are killed on sight and a small cash bonus is given to any person who brings a Goblin Corpse to the castle.
Hobgoblins * Wind Element
Hobgoblins are like their Goblin cousins in many ways. The only major difference being they are under 3 Feet and can ‘fold’ into the wind. They do not usually kill but instead harm or act hostile to get the things they want from travellers.
Gryphon *** Fire Element
Gryphons are a cross between a flying creature, like a bird or a dragon, and a breed of feline. Demetrius is later able to turn into one of these though he can’t control it. These are usually temperamentally and easily provoked. They are proud creatures but also very defensive over what they deem theirs. Gryphons are believed to breath fire though this hasn’t been proven.
Hippogriff *** Wind Element
Hippogriffs are a cross between a feline and a horse. They are temperamental and easily provoked. They are proud creatures but also defensive. They are the cousin species to a Gryphon.
Humans ** No Element
Humans are rather self explanatory. They can live anywhere to be honest but they are forbidden to live in the Svara Wood and most humans stick to this. Humans have such a range of attitudes it is hard to rate their danger level. They are a playable species.
Loch Ness * Water Element
This lone creature is a Sea Serpent in the Kane Ocean. She enjoys talking to people and safe guards many different ships that travel between the main land and Drar Island. Loch Ness is played by Jazz.
Luan ** Wind Element
They are a cross between a dog and a dragon. They have a dogs small body and muzzle but have the horns, fluffy tail and fur of an Asian Lung. They are the most common pet in the Timeless Ink world. Luans vary in size, shape, color and dog style.
Merpeople *** Water Element
These people are part fish and part people. They can talk with people but usually prefer to mind their own. They are known for sinking ships to obtain the cargo. Merpeople can be found in the Koen River and in the Kane Ocean. Merpeople are being considered for being role-playable.
Minotaur **** Earth Element
A cross between a man and a bull. Bottom half man and top half bull. They attack at the slightest sign of people. Minotaurs are volatile and prone to movements. If you stay still they will not notice you. They are very dangerous and are only found in the Drunken Wastelands.
Nightmares ***** No Element
Nightmares are shadows of people now passed on. Nightmares collect up the dead souls and take them to the afterlife. If a person is evil or bad by nature they become a Nightmare. These creatures are feared greatly by the people. To see a nightmare is to get 3 years bad luck. These were lightly based on the White Women because of Meggie’s experiences.
Pixies *** Water Element
Fairy like imitation creatures that are blue in color. They are demonic little things that do anything to harm or hurt people just for the sake of violence. Travellers despise these little things and often try to catch them with a touch of honey. Pixies eat insects so people often stick them in small containers with holes and use them as bug repellent from their houses. Pixies cost a fair amount of money to buy. They can now be found anywhere though they prefer to stay around water so they are more frequently found near the Kane Ocean and Koen River.
Sorcerer ** Earth, Fire, Water or Wind Element
Sorcerers are essentially people who can speak to the elemental fairies. They are in the fairies favour and tend to be able to request pretty much anything from those fairies. They generally just know how to please the elemental fairies and how to find them. Sorcerers are playable but you must PM an admin and send a request. Sorcerers are only permitted to people who have one active character already. They must remain active on both accounts to keep the Sorcerer Position. Only exceptions to this rule are Farid(Dynamite), Dustfinger(Dynamite) and Demetrius (Kinetic)
Aquatic Sorcerer: A Sorcerer who can only find Water Fairies.
Aerial Sorcerer: A Sorcerer who can only find Wind Fairies.
Dynamite Sorcerer: A Sorcerer who can only find Fire Fairies.
Terra Sorcerer: A Sorcerer who can only find Earth Fairies.
Kinetic Sorcerer: A Master Sorcerer who can find all the Fairies and who is on good terms with all of them.
Standard animals ** No Element
Standard Animals are the animals in our world. The ones that don’t talk and are just ‘dumb’ beasts. This includes cats, dogs, lions, camels, pandas and any other kind of animal.
Trend Men ** Fire Element
Little people who are only 10-15 centimetres tall. People have them in their homes to complete little deeds. Meggie modeled them after the glass men from Inkheart. However, she learned from Fenoglio’s mistake and made them out of stone.
Unicorn * Wind Element
Unicorns are essentially a horse with a horn on its head. They are white and usually very beautiful. Their blood can keep a dying man alive but he will be forever cursed. These creatures are only found at the foot of the Cloudy Mountains and in Svara Wood.[/blockquote]
